Lenteji is midway between Granada and the coast...

Lenteji is a small village, with just 340 inhabitants. High in the hills, 650m above sea level at the head of the Rio Verde valley. Accessed by a new road, due to its location, the climate is very pleasant; the winters are mild and it's not to hot in summer.

The vegetation comprises typically of Mediterranean species such as holm oak, carob tree, juniper and olive. Animal life includes mountain goats, wild boar and birds or prey.

The village itself comprises of one main shop where you can buy almost anything, a chemist, a letterbox, public telephone, two bars. The bar La Vina offers a typical Spanish menu each day for as little as six euros. There is an early church and a small botanical garden. You will also find a communal swimming pool which is open in the summer months.

patioA regular bus service to the coast operates each day. For a change there is a larger village seven kilometers away with other restaurants and typical tapas bars. Enjoy a splendid walk through the countryside or across the mountains into the next valleys, there are many different routes to choose from including Dos Rios with its waterfalls and beautiful wild flowers. Walks are as easy of as hard as you want.

Fiestas are celebrated on the 25-27 December with various activities. The inhabitants of Lenteji also began celebrating summer fiestas for those unable to be there during the winter which take place during August.
